Stratford District Council chooses Dialhouse
Dialhouse's special appreciation of accessibility issues was key to being selected, by Stratford District Council, to produce their Diversity Scheme statement. We are designing an aesthetically pleasing, well written and easy to understand document. The scheme is aimed at showing the people of Stratford what the council hope to achieve within the next three years in terms of equality. As with any Public Sector authority it is essential for us to work within the existing corporate guidelines whilst still creating something new and fresh for public consumption.

Dialhouse Website embraces disability standards
We are pleased to announce that the Dialhouse website now conforms to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) accessbility guidelines. The guidelines ensure that websites are easily accessible to everyone, regardless of any disability they may have.
Using various techniques, even the most complicated of websites (including flash animations, images and navigational devices) can be modified to conform to some level of W3C accessibility. There are three levels of conformance, with each checkpoint having a priority level assigned by the Working Group based on the checkpoint's impact on accessibility.
Level "A" - Whereby a Web content developer MUST satisfy the guidelines laid down in the checkpoint list (click here). Satisfying this checkpoint is a basic requirement for some disability groups to be able to use Web documents.
Level "Double-A" - Satisfying this checkpoint will remove significant barriers to accessing Web documents, making the site accessible to a wider range of people than Level A. It is suggested that web developers SHOULD satisfy this point.
Level "Triple-A" - A Web content developer MAY address this checkpoint. Otherwise, one or more groups will find it somewhat difficult to access information in the document. Satisfying this checkpoint will improve access to Web documents.
The Dialhouse site is AAA compliant throughout.
